I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but was quickly whisked away to Maine, where I grew up. After attending Brown University for music and theater, and spending three years in Boston playing bass, keyboards, trumpet and singing in various bands and getting a master's in print journalism from Boston University, I moved to North Haven, an island in Maine's Penobscot Bay. There, I teach music, theater and English at North Haven Community School. I also teach Pilates at the island YMCA, serve as a volunteer EMT, bake bread, play music, and write about all of it. My work can be seen in the Working Waterfront and Kveller. I am seeking literary representation.
